Is UPS Shipping retarded?

I dunno, this opsled guy seems to have a bone to pick. Okay, maybe he's had some whiney customers. Fair enough. Why's he taking my hatred of UPS personally? Who cares if they're an American company, I'd hate them equally if they were Canadian.

Everything I said about UPS was regarding brokerage and how they sent a package around the continent for me. Brokerage is set by them, as was said. If something is shipped to me by USPS I am charged something like $8 is brokerage fees. Which I will gladly pay.

And FWIW, I have never ASKED to have a package shipped to me with gift status. Paying 13.5% tax on anything isn't great, but it's not going to kill me. However, twice it has been offered to me (if they want to, sure) and once something was shipped to me as being parts for a 1968 chevy, which mysteriously enough makes it tax exempt. I didn't ask for it, I had to call the guy back and thank him (besides, he makes excellent parts).

But, I don't want to argue this. If my point isn't made here, it never will be.

little explanation...

opsled runs a business through ebay and sells fairly large items..so shipping would be high anyways. well, he says it flat out and then people are amazed when it costs $100 to $150 to ship a 2 cylinder 2 stroke motor plus the parts to make it run and bolt it into your vehicle of choice. he says it flat out.

Now, compound that to saying "I'm from Canada" after he says it costs more to ship to canada due to someone else's taxes and whatnot...and you almost get sick of people complaining. I mean, $100 isn't that much to ship something like that in the first place. and UPS doesn't have 100% control over Canada's tax policy or their import policy. too, even if there is an american-made tax or whatever, it is not UPS' fault.

so people whining is something he sees alot. kinda not fun.

either way, i don't like what i see in this thread...

comancheclub has NEVER been a place for people to attack each other like was going on, and it rubs me the wrong way that its a new guy doin it. i don't know jack about the shipping to canada, ups, or brokerage fee's... but i do know that mancheclub is a calm, friendly place. and it'll be a sad day when that ends.

:agree: Oizarod is right on with that post. This crap hasnt been happining and it don't need to start. This political debate over crap that we can't control is nothing to argue over. This wasnt going on until now and it needs to stop. I have only once seen a thread that was in jeopardy of flaming up and it was stopped before hand by grown adults who realized it was stupid to argue about. Obviously some people have issues with shipping thru UPS and some others have the opinion that its not UPS's fault. Well thats great we see your views so why keep going back and forth making it a big deal. It is nothing to create animosity over. Let it go and move on your points have been made.

Jeepcomj I am not certain but i don't think he was saying you but i may be wrong on this one. I just think it should be dropped and move on. It just seems like a petty thing to keep bickering about. we all have problems with certain things that others don't plus its not that big of a deal soemone just wanted to vent not start a Comanche lub fued over shipping charges and problems. Everyone needs to vent and some feel like the guys on here are family and friends they can vent to. SO again I think it shoudl just bve dropped.
