Sylar
My 90 comanche came with this adjustable proportioning valve when i bought it. It has a lift and the height sensing valve is no longer attached to the axle and is zip tied to be about parallel with the axle. I'm assuming this would used instead of the height sensing valve? How would I go about installing it?
cruiser54
There's a thread on here about it. Do you have experience flaring brake tubing?
coolwind57
Some guys are using these instead of, or in the absence of, the load sensing valve. I would recommend you inspect and fully understand the current orientation and modification of your rear lines first. When I bought mine, I had to deal with a previous owner hacking on the brake system. Know what you have exactly and then check out what other guys are doing and make your good decision that you feel works best for you. Some will insist on returning the load sensing valve to operate. Others have used these adjustable proportioning valves (I chose this route), and some have chose neither option. Do a search on this forum to acquaint yourself with your options. There's been lots of discussion so it'll be easy to find.
Sylar
Alright I'll search around and see what I find. I do have experience flaring brake lines so no issues there, but I'd have to buy the tools to do so. Probably not worth adding at this time since the brakes are still working fine
Eagle
Be advised that if you have the rear height-sensing proportioning valve, there are two brake lines to the rear. One is an emergency bypass line, it is NOT a "brake return line" (which you will see it called if you look long enough). There is a special, non-typical procedure for bleeding the rear brakes when you have that rear height-sensing valve. It has been posted here, several times.
