Did some upgrades and now my truck won't start

Hey everyone. 

 

I did a headlight harness upgrade and a "big 3" upgrade today. The headlights and electrical all work when I turn the key, but there is nothing from the engine. I double checked all my grounds and can't figure it out. Any ideas? Thanks. 

 

This morning I tried jump starting the starter which sparked. Checked all my fuses, which were all still good. I'm at a loss.

What's a ""big 3" upgrade?  Did you mess with the ignition switch?

Nope. Completely silent.

Didn't mess with the ignition switch. 

 

This is the big three upgrade:

Verify Park/Neutral on your transmission shifter.

I'm sort of new to this. I don't really know what that means haha.

Starter will only engage when your column/floor shifter is in Park or Neutral.

Oh. I have an automatic..

Check your transmission shifter, make sure its in Park or Neutral.

Gotcha. Sorry, dealing with jet lag. It's in park.

Try starting the vehicle with the shifter in the Neutral position.

It won't move from park..

Tried it in neutral and still nothing

I'm actually embarrassed to say, but my negative battery cable wasn't snug enough...
