New Engine for my ‘87

I need a new engine for my jeep, and I’m not sure where to look or just exactly what I need. It’s an ‘87. What info do I need to know to make sure I find one that fits?

what has gone wrong with the current engine?

Not to be a stickler.... But it is a 2.5.... 2.4 is a newer Chrysler product

It’s a cracked engine block or head. And thanks for the correction.

any 2.5L from any year XJ/MJ/YJ (plus most TJs) will work for the block
