NC Tom Posted May 3, 2018 Share Posted May 3, 2018 These front pads are under 6 months old. I live in the mountains and that kind of driving eats pads up, but what!!!??? I heard my brakes scraping yesterday, checked them today and was very surprised at the wear. Clearly, something ain't right with my ride! Any thoughts or solutions, etc.? DirtyComanche Posted May 4, 2018 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Cheap pads will do that. It's amazing how soft they are and how fast they will wear. Assuming the pistons aren't sticking and the caliper guides aren't worn, like Eagle says. Another rare issue is the pushrod in the booster being wrong, resulting in the brakes dragging all the time. FrankTheDog Posted May 4, 2018 Share Posted May 4, 2018 I use autozone ceramic max pads in the red box with the duralast gold rotors. My wife got 60k out of the rotors on her XJ and there was still half the pad left. They stop with authority! They replaced the pads and rotors under warranty because of the wear on the rotors.
