I'm not sure which tranny I'll go with.

I'm buying the whole 1999 2500.

Its possibly going in a 2wd Comanche.

I can cut down the center of the front axle too

I've been kinda watching Luke Burns' build with the truck intake still on it.

But I'll probably try to make my own motor mounts. I'm a fabricator and made motor mounts on my other MJ.

I can probably figure out all the wiring too. I'll probably make my own gauge cluster again.

1999 was the first year for the 6.0, I've read that the first year had cast iron cylinder heads instead of aluminum.

It's got hydroboost.  I just converted my CJ7 to hydroboost, and it is a big improvement over a dual diaphragm vacuum booster.

My 2001 Silverado has 295,000 and still runs strong.  In my neck of the woods, 6.0s have a reputation of running forever.  The 2500HDs have a factory engine oil cooler which the 1500s did not.  Makes me wonder if that has anything to do with their longevity.

Here's the donor. $470. Nothing on or in the body is good. Just drivetrain.

I think I'll leave it stock, not even open it up, get it in there, (exhaust will be the hardest part) and run and dyno it stock. Then build it and dyno again. See how far my money got me.
