SatiricalHen
I’ve seen lots of swaps for the doors, and I would really like to get the 97+ doors like I have on my Cherokee on the Comanche since it has the full window, but I’d like to keep the interior door panel. Is it possible to put the old panel on the new doors? I’ve looked but every swap I’ve seen they leave the panels or do a full interior swap. Thanks for any replies! yellaheep
Nope. The inner structure of the late model door and the early door panel don't work. The placement of the inside door lever assembly and how the rods run is totally different. Same with the arm rest and how they fasten to the door. You'll instantly see what I mean by simply laying an early door panel over the late model door. I think the only way to make it work would be to do some cutting and welding. Cut out the early inner door structure and weld into a late model door. I'm with ya on liking the look of the early door panels and the full window of the late model doors. I too would do it if the panels cooperated.
johnj92131
An old time member did install the full window on his Comanche doors. Guy was in northern California. Think Don may know who it is?
Dzimm
I would think you could make a full window work in an early vent/fixed vent door but you have to swap the regulator and window tracks over to the old door along with the newer lower seal. You would need to mount the guts inside the door somehow and may need to cut some but I'm sure it's doable.
