Eagle
I recently put a new Auto Zone track bar in my wife's 2000 XJ. It didn't do much to tighten up the steering, and it appears that the problem is the rubber bushing in the axle end is too soft, allowing the bar to shift slightly as it compresses the rubber. Auto Zone offers a polyurethane bushing kit for $10. Has anybody used a poly bushing kit to repair a front track bar? If so, how well or badly did it work? http://www.autozone.com/suspension-steering-tire-and-wheel/track-bar-bushing/energy-suspension-track-bar-bushing/354359_253661_5934
HOrnbrod
It will probably tighten it up, can't make it worse, but the Autozone track bar is a low quality C.R.A.P. IMO. I would have gone OEM.
Jeep Driver
I've used the Moog version of that poly, works well.

75sv1
I'd check the gear box. Try adjusting it. I did have to replace the bushing in a Rusty's Track bar. It did help.
