Dogote Posted August 29, 2017 Share Posted August 29, 2017 Hello everyone! I need more help. I have an older thread about this clutch repair here: I got the clutch fork from OMIX ADA. They said it would fit a 1986 with a 2.5 liter. It isn't even close. I am posting pictures of my transmission, and the clutch fork that was in it. Some things that make me think it may not be the original clutch is that it has 196,000 miles on it, it supposedly had the engine overhauled at some point, and it had the 9.125" clutch, not the 9.6" clutch in it. 87Warrior Posted August 30, 2017 Share Posted August 30, 2017 I think that Omix Ada listing has the MJ and XJ mistakenly listed as compatible vehicles (the vehicle years don't make sense). However, the 86 MJ is a unique bird and I am not really sure where it's clutch release design came from. If you can find a part number stamped on your cracked fork you may be able to track down the appropriate fork. As I mentioned in the other thread, I recommend upgrading to the 94+ XJ external set up. Jeep Driver Posted August 31, 2017 Share Posted August 31, 2017 The loose TOB is a National brand and has only about 2 months of use.....I then swapped another trans and did the clutch and use the LUK TOB. The slave is OEM Chrysler and is good, as well as the hydraulic line, the master is aftermarket and I can't promise you its good but you would have something in hand to match to. Regardless of year, the blocks are all the same with a couple of exceptions that is not germane to your needs here. The gearboxes are all the same with exception of TC clocking. I also have a bearing plate, I'll send it if yours is not exactly like mine, but I think they are the same.
