Lannie770 Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I have a 1988 Comanche that I'm converting the running gear to a 2004 grand cherokee running gear. The 2004 gear has electronic speedometer rather than a mechanical. Will the vdo 437-152 aftermarket speedometer work for me. Thanks.
Pete M Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 don't know for sure, but you should be able to remove the electronic pickup from the t-case and install your mechanical one (might need a different speedo gear inside)
Minuit Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I believe the WJ uses the ABS sensors for its speedometer. Dunno how that's going to affect adapting an "old" style speedometer pickup.
Lannie770 Posted August 20, 2017 Author Posted August 20, 2017 I may not have provided enough info. The comanchee is a 2wd. I'm pretty green to Jeeps, but looking at the receiver for the speedo hookup, there doesn't appear to be a gear to drive a mechanical one.
