Headliner question

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know, or has anyone at least tried to cut down a Cherokee xj headliner to fit in a Comanche?

I have one cut down in mine. Only problem is that it doesn't cover the back of the cab properly. I cut the fiberglass shorter than the cloth and wrapped it around the back to give a clean edge. It does sit a little lower than the MJ one so if you are tall it may be a problem. I'm 6'4" and on my taller bucket seats my head just barely contacts the ceiling but it works really well. 7c3fa4a5b8cae464c9a8d012ef20f730.jpg

Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a try, even if I have to jimmy-rig the back, it can't look worse than the lack of any headliner I have now.. What about putting the Cherokee rear speaker bar across there? Or would that hang to low?... Just a thought

The speaker bar can be installed in the truck.  There are a few build threads where people mounted it above the seats.  Some have said it does sit a little low but if you are short enough or have shorter seats, it isn't a problem.  I just recently saw one here somewhere they had mounted it across the front of the truck just behind the visors.  I'll see if I can find that picture/thread.  I believe there are also some people who have mounted the XJ soundbar across the backer-board behind the seats.

Thanks for the replies, I like the looks of the 97-01 with the overhead console.. Unfortunately, I have the 94-ish speaker bar.. But we'll try it, I should be short enough to have head clearance even tho I'm using the limited seats also:)
