Replacing 710 injectors for 746's review

Recommended Posts

Since I wasn't able to find a good solid review of swapping the 4 hole "710" injectors to the "746" ones I thought I would do it. The 746 injectors are still the undisputed best injectors for the Renix models, my idle is smooth as glass and my truck is much more responsive. The 710 injectors are also a 4 hole, single piece design but if I'm not mistaken the resistance is a tiny bit different. I can't say enough good things about using the 746 injectors guys, they are worth every penny.

Please tell us where you purchased the 746 injectors and how much they cost.  Were these factory new 746 injectors or "just" cleaned up old injectors?

Last questions - how long had the old 710 injectors been used, were they factory new injectors or "just" cleaned up old injectors?

Yes, I replaced the Ford "710" injectors with the Volvo 746's. I found the replacement injectors on ebay ( back flushed and cleaned ) for 80.00 dollars shipped for a set of 6, the 710's I replaced were also back flushed and cleaned but I don't remember what I paid for them. Fuel economy has at the very least stayed the same, if not it may have been improved slightly but without numbers and calculations I can't say for sure. I had the 710 injectors in my truck for approximately 2 1/2 years.

$80 seems like a fair price.  Glad you have good results.

But just wonder what would happen if your old "710" injectors were cleaned up again and then put back in your truck?

Thank you, according to the ebay seller they were cleaned, flushed and ready to be installed. Somehow installing the 746's made a much more more noticeable difference/improvement than the 710's. Maybe I got ripped off with the 710's ? maybe they weren't serviced and just made to look clean?
