89 Comanche FLOOR PANELS ANYBODY ???

Recommended Posts

I just went to a HVAC company and picked through thier scrap pile for some decent sheet metal.

Cut patches with some heavy duty tin snips, and welded them in place.

Not the prettiest job, but it's strong and was cheepie, (just the cost of the welding rods). :brows:

http://www.rustrepair.com/BODY_PANELS/onlinecat.htm?r=rr&p=SM-JEEP-CHEROKEE.84 thats the websit i bpught pans from but to be hounest its formed right but don't have the raised c section in the middle to be honest I'm makeing the rest of it out of flat stock the front half is a good starting point though

I wonder if y'all know that the raised C section is SPOT WELDED over the floorpan...???

you can make one easy, but remember to remove the one (or what's left of it) before installing the floorpan.

Well When I got my MJ, there wasn't much floor left in that area.

I welded in a nice thick peice of sheet metal,

As for the raised C section,

since it wasn't there,

I figure I can get away with out it. :brows:

The piece I welded in seems pretty strong.
