Hippie66
I dropped the tank on my '89 MJ this morning to swap in a new tank. Found the soldered joints where the lines pass through the plate broken loose. Knowing the part isn't available, I decided to repair mine. It turned out pretty good. A propane torch, solder, flux, and a couple of stainless steel brushes were all that was needed.
Hippie66
New tank, fuel pump, roll over valve grommets, and all fuel lines, repaired sending unit. Ready to bolt it back in so my truck can resume daily driver status.

Hippie66
http://m.homedepot.com/p/Oatey-H-20-5-Water-Soluble-Paste-Flux-Kit-with-Safe-Flo-Solder-506912/202515582 Biggest issue is getting it clean. I used a stainless steel wire brush, then heated and applied flux, then wire brush again. I hit it several times. Once I was satisfied with how clean it was, more flux and sweated the solder in. HOrnbrod
Just like sweating in copper pipe joints. Done plenty of that, but never tried it on steel. Good to know and hope it holds up.
