MJ1987
I know I'm going to be an annoyance for asking But what parts are useable/interchangeable from the xj in fixing an mj. Got any worthwhile yet reasonably priced sites for mj parts, some but not all I need, catalytic converter seats and/bench seat, handbrake(all parts), hood pull/latch. Possibly all wiring components for electrical system.
ParadiseMJ
Depending on the year, almost everything forward of the bed, and axles (with some modification. My MJ is built with almost all XJ parts. When I go to the parts store I usually ask for a 90 XJ (because the computer seems to have many more parts available for XJs' than for MJ's, even though they're the same, kind of. If you want to upgrade stuff you can also use later years with some exceptions. The earlier (Renix) control system does not mix well with the later OBD I & II stuff for the most part. But era to same era is mostly a direct match...cab forward.
MJ1987
Thank you. I got an 87 mj and I love her dearly but parts here in Newport news seem to be few and far between. 90 xj cab forward will work? My luck I have found one place in VA Beach with a 89 xj but that's it...:/

Minuit
Where to find rears? For pretty much all MJ specific parts there isn't any new ones being made, so your only options are to find one in a junkyard or find someone that's selling what you need on here. People will probably try to tell you that 2dr Cherokee rear flares fit, and this is NOT the case. They have to come from a Comanche. As far as what does interchange with an XJ, pretty much everything that's located in front of the seats is the same as an XJ. Most of the interior does not interchange, but the dash, kick panels, and door panels do. The seats are the same seats as a 2dr Cherokee but on different floor brackets. If you have the floor brackets for Comanche bucket seats, you can bolt pretty much anything on to them. Exterior wise, the doors and everything in front of them are the same as a similar year Cherokee.

You can attach bucket seats to the bench seat pedestals, but you won't be able to move the passenger seat forward and back unless you weld on a lever for the adjuster mechanism.
