Jtrux Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 The 2.5L has the GM 60 degree bolt pattern, right? Has anyone swapped a later model 3.8 from a Firebird/Trans Am into a MJ/XJ? They are also 60 degree motors.
mnkyboy Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Most do the 3400 but a 3800 would be doable,problem is that the transmission wouldn't live very long.
dasbulliwagen Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 It has been done by a member on this site. My recollection is that he couldn't keep trannys in it for very long. The next weak point after that is the rear end if you have a dana 35. Look up build threads by jeepcomj and you should find some info.
