caseyrstewart Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 In a constant effort to learn what different parts of my Jeep do, I got under the hood today and found these two hoses completely disconnected. They both run to the top of my transmission (one on the passenger side, one on driver). There's a bracket attached and it comes up right at the back of the engine. Can't tell you much more than that. Thoughts?
caseyrstewart Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Vent tubes for the trans / tcase . Is it supposed to mounted or connected to something?

Any particular bolt? Do those hoses need to connect to anything or does the trans exhaust just breath under the hood?
gogmorgo Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 It's not "exhaust" so much. It just lets air in and out as it expands and contracts when the trans and tcase heat up and cool down. Running them up that high prevents water from getting in, allowing greater fording depth.
