Micah
I'm new to the group and have recently bought an 86 with a 2.8 that has had the 3.4 conversion. The engine is bad I believe and I want to change it to another 3.4 and was curious about the aftermarket intake and carb. Will this still fit and allow the hood to close or does the intake sit higher?

outlaw star
Edelbrock makes an intake manifold for the 60° V6 that gives you the choice of the stock carb, Weber 32/36 DEGV carb or using a standard Holley 2bbl.
Micah
Want to use a used 3.4 and was wondering if the edelbrock intake is worth going to and if it would fit without altering the hood.
yxmj
Get the specs of the intake off of the manufactures website...it will have a height measurement....compare that with what you have.... :dunno: :dunno:

86FUBAR
I'm running the edelbrock intake with the stock carb on my 3.4 and I had to raise the hood to get it to clear and I'm pretty sure you have to do the same with the other carb adapter as well . I also had to put a small dent in the hood support at the back center of the air cleaner lid as it was rubbing a little though I probably could have raised the hood more but I liked it were it was at.
