Steve Gregory
Could anyone assemble a list of parts needed to add power windows to my truck? Also, if I add them will that solve the problem of them not going down all the way manually?
Steve Gregory
Sorry if this is a recurring topic. Also, do the control panels come with just the window switches or locks too?

You need to identify and solve that problem first. There are a number of threads about adding power windows to the Comanche, A simple search will bring up a number of them. Best thing for you to do is either search the internet for an add on power window kit for the 2 door Cherokee XJ or to find a Cherokee with power windows and salvage the parts from that truck. Several of us have done this, but it does take some electrical knowledge.

gogmorgo
I'm not 100% certain on this, but don't you need the windows, regulator, etc. from a 4-door and only the switches and wiring from a 2-door? The MJ doors are the same as 4-door XJ doors.
johnj92131
Glass is the same - i "THINK" Buy the doors from an xj that is the same color as your doors and has power windows. Get all the electrical wiring along with the doors. That includes the cross body harness. Swap the doors, connect the cross body harness (That is the hard part). If you can find a 2 door XJ with power windows, then get the power window /locks control from the drivers door. Use that in your driver door and it will look just like factory. If you can not get the cross body harness - you can make one by your self. Don has posted a diagram/how to several times. Me? I just paid an auto electrician in Tijuana to hook them all up. gogmorgo
The door is longer. I don't see anything making up for shorter glass, so the glass is definitely longer too. That doesn't mean they don't share regulators of course, but I imagine the 4-door's lighter glass would cause tension problems when used with the heavier 2-door glass's spring, and the 4-door's regulator would strain under the 2-door glass' extra weight. Because the regulators are getting replaced. I had a problem on my manual regulator, that if you rolled it all the way down, it would not go back up. This is due to the "beaded wire" (don't know the real name) inside the regulator being rusted/wore out. Not sure if the original post is referring to the same problem.
