dkmcgowan Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 the throttle stop must have been off at one point and allowed the throttle plate to close too far and the bore has some damage. There is one side of the bore where you can tell the butterfly was hitting. I have adjusted the throttle stop correctly and added some blue locktite, hopefully it will hold, but does that bore damage cause any issues?
gogmorgo Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 If it causes air to leak past the butterfly, then it might cause some high-idle issues. If that's not the case and it's not catching the butterfly, then it should be fine. I suppose it might also slow down the air a bit at WOT, but unless you're looking for every hundredth of a second on a racetrack, it's not going to be a big deal.
HOrnbrod Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Bore it! http://www.strokedjeep.com/renix%20t-body.html
jeepsouth Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Just installed a bored throttle body on my mj last week. Jeff at strokedjeep has my old one already so he can get it to you quick unless someone else gets it first that is.
