throttle body bore damage

Recommended Posts

the throttle stop must have been off at one point and allowed the throttle plate to close too far and the bore has some damage.  There is one side of the bore where you can tell the butterfly was hitting.  I have adjusted the throttle stop correctly and added some blue locktite, hopefully it will hold, but does that bore damage cause any issues?

If it causes air to leak past the butterfly, then it might cause some high-idle issues. If that's not the case and it's not catching the butterfly, then it should be fine. I suppose it might also slow down the air a bit at WOT, but unless you're looking for every hundredth of a second on a racetrack, it's not going to be a big deal.
