Tanner
Are there any issues with using HO headers on a renix motor set up? I am having a hard time finding headers for my renix, I have pacesetters on it now and they are garbage. I want a good set that is bolt together at the joints rather that using clamps like the cheapo pacesetters
cruiser54
They fit the head with a little filing of the intake...maybe. There is no provision for EGR or Oxygen sensor. You can have an O2 sensor bung welded into the new headpipe you're gonna need.
HOrnbrod
Every HO header I've seen has an O2 sensor bung.
Rockfrog
Renix has the O2 in the manifold, HO places the O2 sensor in the down pipe. De-loom the O2 wires a bit, reroute and the current O2 will go in the HO location. The angle of the HO and Renix exhaust manifold the downpipe are different, Renix being straight down and HO being about 45 degrees to the rear. The flanges are the same though so have the current exhaust modified when the O2 bung is added. My 1988 has an HO head, intake and exhaust with an adapted downpipe from the donor. All still Renix powered. I also deleted the EGR system a few years back, so that will be an issue. But adding an EGR bung is as easy as adding an O2 bung. HOrnbrod
I think the OP is asking about aftermarket headers, not stock exhaust components. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The pacesetters I have on it currently has the O2 bung further in the down pipe, I have already extended my wiring harness to accommodate that. I also deleted my EGR tube when I replaced the stock manifold just because it was easier that way. I'm looking to grab a set of SS HO headers. I'm going to have to get the down pipe section reworked because I no longer have the stock pipes that run to the joint by the trans mount.

As for the bungs, I've only seen without.....stock replacement or header.
