JasonB Posted February 15, 2016 Share Posted February 15, 2016 How difficult would it be to swap my slushbox AW4 for a 5 spd manual tranny? What all is involved? My last trail rig was a 5 spd Toyota with a Marlin crawler doubler sitting on 35's with 5.29 gearing. I haven't wheeled my Comanche yet as I've been trying get it "right" before hitting the trail. My setup now is Ford Dana 44 front and 9 in in rear with spools and 5.13 gearing sitting on 36's. My concern is that once I go wheeling with it I'll be disappointed in the gearing or lack thereof and I just prefer wheeling with a manual shift. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. I know the nv3550 and the nsg370 would mount straight up to the rock trac but would those trannies mount up to the old remix motor? thanks for the help. just trying to figure out all my possibilities. The differences is not that much between the nv3550 and ax15...it's all really what you can get your hands on... The rock trac transfer case should fit on the nv3550 and ax15...
