Black89Comanche Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 does anyone know where i can get a 4x4 rear drive shaft made
1987Comanche Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 You should have a driveshaft shop within maybe an hour's drive. Look for power train in the phone book or call the local transmission repair shop and see who they recommend. I had a local place in WNC shorten/make a driveshaft for Georgia and it works fine. I can give you the name but it's a long drive from AL :)
Black89Comanche Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 do you think they would be willing to ship it to me?
HOrnbrod Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I had mine made by Tom Woods. Excellent work, great reputation, and not outrageously expensive. You must provide the dimensions you need from u-joint to u-joint cntr's. http://www.4xshaft.com/
DansGreyMj Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Look up Adams Driveshaft in Vegas. They gave me a better deal than any local shop did, hundreds less, and shipping was free.
1987Comanche Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I'm sure they would ship it. The company is Asheville Powertrain. I had a Mustang driveshaft cut down to fit but they build them from scratch as well. http://www.ashevillepowertrain.com/
Blue XJ Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I get all mine from Dynotech up here in SE Michigan. They do a lot of NASCAR work as well, so I'm sure they ship them out too.
daking Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Adams Driveshaft and Tom Woods are both great places to get new shafts. The local drive shaft place to me, was giving me the "Shaft" when it came to price. Wanted just a bit more then Adams, but all stock stuff. Adams and Tom Woods use better parts, longer splines and other little things that make a good shaft. I've used both in the past. My MJ is running Adams.
