Chrysler 8.25" axle tag decoder

Does anyone know the codes for 8.25" axle tags.

 

I'm referring to the tags with a four digit number.

 

For example, I pulled some Trac Loks from Daks and XJs with the tags "4.10" or "3.55" (duh) and tags "1468" and "1119".

 

Daks are usually 3.55 or 3.90 geared, that's easy to figure out but I've always wondered what the other tags signifies?

 

Antilock brakes perhaps?

I've always wondered this...I've noticed the other day on the 3.07 and 4.10 axle I have...there's a label on the inside part of the axle...(pinion side) right side...

 

I didn't read much of the specifics but I'll look into it when I get a chance

If your local Chryco dealer parts people are wprth a damn, they should be able to tell you.

I don't see anything else but the 3.07 gears...maybe looking up the #s will give some details?

Count the output yoke rotations when you do full turn on the hubs. If the yoke rotates 3 times its a 3.07 if it does it 3 1/2 times you're looking at a 3.55 and if it's over 4xs you have a 4.10.

Just found this axle today and notice this paper wrap on the tag end...

Lol that one is pulled....it's sitting in my xj with an nv3550 I picked up...
