toid
There is a pale vacuum line under the water bottle... It comes through the firewall. It is right above the black that the AC lines go through before going through the firewall. Mine is dangling and dryrotted. Can anyone tell me what it is and where it connects so I can run a new line? Thanks. Rev. Toid

Knucklehead97
Some valve on the heater core lines. I deleted mine and capped off the vacuum line. Most people go that route from what I hear. I sadly don't have a picture.
HOrnbrod
You can see the whitish vacuum line going to the heater water control valve in the below picture. If your valve has been eliminated as most have, make sure that vacuum line is plugged.
toid
what does the valve do? I'll have to check mine out to see if it's there. I can't say if it is.
cruiser54
what does the valve do? I'll have to check mine out to see if it's there. I can't say if it is. It stops the flow of coolant through the heater core when vent or AC is selected. Oh, and the thing it's mostly noted for: Disintegrating at the most inopportune time and causing a huge coolant loss. Eliminate it. There is no downside.
toid
Ok. it may not be there now. I haven't had to fix that part yet. HA Great little truck. Tough as nails, but an endless stream of "little" projects. Such is life... and jeeps. lol

How do I bypass and how could a failure result in losing coolant? From where does the coolant flow out if the valve fails? Thanks

Remove it and put a straight piece of pipe or a splice in it.
ggcnash
I'll let cruiser give you the details, but just go by 97+ XJ heater hose set and that's it it Eliminated!
1stDeuce
Actually, on the 94 HVAC that I put in my comanche, it only shuts off the coolant when you slide the selector to the off position. I want it off in vent too, but it doesn't do that. I'd agree there's no reason not to remove it.
