4.0forlife
hey guys i recently bought an 88 pioneer 4.0 5pd 4x4. the po had swapped in an ax15 after he said the pukegoat ba10 lost gears. but he wired the reverse lights up to a switch on the dash. well that being said i removed that and tried to get them working on the trans switch again. but i have no clue what the switch looks like or where it may be(the connector for the body end[i found the one on the trans]). any help would be great thanks! 87MJTIM
I cut the end off the wiring harness and connected a two prong adapter that plugs into the AX15 reverse switch. I got it at PepBoys.
4.0forlife
Which side of the truck should the harness connector be on?
87MJTIM
It dropped down the passenger side. Look at the picture in 88whitemanche's link. Look for a 4 pin connector. If the PO re-wired to a switch in the cab, he (probably) would have wired through that connector.
4.0forlife
You would think so but it took power from the bat to the dash switch from there he ran a wire all the way back and cut the wires off the harness and spliced his in. I had to rewire the bulb buckets for the taillights because of the now green wires.
87MJTIM
Here is the 88 electrical FSM. Download it to you computer and use it to trace the wiring through the engine. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/

87MJTIM
Trace the wiring back to the source, using the FSM. Then go to the trans. "You mission, Jim, should you decide to accept it, is to...."
