Tommy
I'm on 33s w 4.5 backspacing on about 4.5 inches lift. I had to flatten the pinch weld and cut fenders. I ended up going to fiberglass fenders and all is well.

Not recognizable as a comanche from this angle.
Pete M
I've got about 5.5 and 33x12.5s and had to trim a bit off the bottoms of the fenders. bumpstop extensions are your friends.
chris71
nice pic, ok thanks are those headlights from a liberty ?
chris71
i was thinking bumpstops would be the way to go . guess when i get it together i'll just have to flex it and measure to get the right size one in , i'm wanting to try to keep as much of a stock look to the body as possible, already cutting the front fenders for approach angle, but if i have to do some minor trimming to minimize rubbing then ok. i'll post some pics later after i figure out how to get them small enough file size to post on here . Crash
Just bump stopping will limit your up travel. I would trim to the bottom of where the lip is angled and then get correct bumps to go from there. I recommend prothane progressive coil insert bumpstops. Get some that are potentially taller than you need, and you can cut off a ring or so pending how you need to be setup.

MrSimon
This is my truck when it had 33s, about 5" up front and SOA in the rear (about 5.5). You can see how I cut the front fender ... and I still had just a tad of rubbing in certain flex situations, but overall It worked great. A lot of it depends on how you plan to use the truck. You could easily run 33s on 4.5" with no trimming if you keep it on the street .... but you'd definitely beat up your fenders if you wheel hard.
