What fluid should I put in my ford 8.8? Should I use a gasket, or the make your own gasket sealant?

I've watched some videos on how to weld the tubes to the housing, does this sound right? Preheat the housing (I don't know how Much), weld 2-3 inches at a time changeing sides and spots each time. Let cool slowly by wrapping in blankets or towels.

Ford recommends 75w-140 these days. Make sure it has the limited slip friction modifier in it. I see no reason to use anything but RTV on the cover.

It's an additive for gear oil for axles with LSD

You can either buy oil WITH it, Or buy a bottle of it seperately & add it yourself.

RTV silicone works great for a gasket.

Tubes are .25" housing is around the same. Don't make big wide welds and tap on the cast with a hammer as it cools

Lube locker gasket. IF you get good synthetic diff fluid (most will say no modifier required), friction modifier is not necessary. If you run non-synthetic oil, the modifier is definitely needed.

I am currently open/open in my XJ, but I use Amsoil 75w-110 front and rear. It is a full syn that does not require additional modifiers. I will be using the same in my 8.8 that I swap into my MJ.
