WNY-J24 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I am in the same boat jack. I have an 88 pugeot tranny 4x4 My internal slave is leaking and needs replacement. I would like to swap an ax15or the nv3550. I know there are other threads here with more info but I believe we need to get a different cross member that has a bigger dip to accommodate the ax15 or whichever we pick. Also the spline count on the transfer case is different so you may need together the transfer case that goes with the tranny. I am looking for a shop that can do the swap for me but I can't find a place that knows what is involved enough to pull the trigger.

Ya there is definently some changes that need to happen to put it in, I think I'm doing it myself though, it doesn't seem all that bad.

Also could I get that linkage new?

The seats won't work in the MJ (changed the mounting points in '93 or '94) but all the external slave AX15 parts you need are there. It looks like it's been sitting for a little while. If you don't want the entire XJ maybe make him an offer on everything you do want out of it. If the body is worth $300 as scrap and if he got, say, $400 for everything you want off the truck, he won't loose money on it. At the end of the XJ run they switched from the AX15 to the NV3550 (MY2000-01 I believe). Not sure if the cross-member is the same but I've heard that's a good trans also. All the AX15 trucks used the same cross-member.
