nosofast
So the Genius i bought my Comanche from thought he was going to pull one over on me with the 4 wheel drive and removed apart from the shift linkage because he assumed the 4 wheel drive was done, but it was just the vacuum lines. So Now i can't find the part i need I have 91 5 speed and the issue is when i try to shift the 4wd lever it just free play ,what ever hooks into the bottom of the shifter between there and the linkage that connects to the transfer case is missing ive looked everywhere to find one or even a picture of it.. So If anyone knows what that part is or has a picture of the under side stock linkage it would awesome if you could reply to my post.

Megadan
http://www.boostwerksengineering.com/231-HD-Shift-Linkage-Manual-Trans-_p_29.html Best linkage for the money Bookmarked! To the OP, I found this picture for ya that gives the best picture of the linkage. Yours would more or less look exactly like this from the factory. Hit up the pick a part near you and raid an XJ with the same trans and transfer case assembly as yours and you should be fine.
Incommando
When I converted to 4wd I spent more on the used rusty stock shifter crap then I paid for the boostwerks kit what I eventually went with. It is a simple install and works much better than stock.
Crash
I do not have one yet, but times however many on the boostwerks linkage, I plan to convert my XJ eventually and my MJ when I do a 4WD conversion.
