I'm going to look through the FSM in a minute...

But I had idle problems, as in it didn't idle when warm. So I grabbed a shiney new IAC from the boneyard figuring that was the problem. Now it really won't idle...

 Yes I know what you are talking about, Ijust had the same problem with my 88.mine was the map sensor .I also had a bad connection with the TPS.Fixed the TPS and she wouldn t return to idle ( read running @ 3000 RPM)then put the new MAP sensor on and she idled @550 to 750 then bolted up a new IAC and she ran next to perfect @650/700.I have noticed a lot of wiring problems with the connecters I would suggest that you definitly check those and if you change plugs on anything do not use crimp fittings!!! Those are worthless!!!.Of course I am blessed with the renix system and I think it is worthless. If you have any questions Email me I can probably talk you thru it also . greetings Ron. 8)

It's weird. The reason it didn't work was I knocked off one of the ballast resistor leads. It fired up and did the usual climb to about 3k, then it came down and died. I thought 'hmm, it ain't idling at all'. Then I realized what my problem was.

After it got warm, it still wouldn't idle. So I disabled the EGR and then it did...

So I should probably take a couple minutes and go through the manual.

The thing is a pile. I need to spend a weekend and track down all the problems with it.

The issue is that I take it out every couple weeks and flog it to death, and it sits all the other time. And I never do ANY maintenance...
