Babygirl36988 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 so I'm new and this maybe in the wrong section. Sorry if it is, but I'm trying to replace the shift knob due to the factory one coming apart. Just the metal piece that was inside the rubberish material is still there. How do I remove it?
reubj Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 It's threaded on to the shifter. There are flats for a wrench. Just unscrew it.
HOrnbrod Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Column shift or floor shift? Suggest you edit your signature to include the year, engine, transmission, etc. of your MJ so we don't have to guess.
fiatslug87 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 The manual shifter has a "lock nut" with flat sides, loosen it clockwise, then unscrew the metal piece counterclockwise.
