So after a complete overhaul/replacement it's leaking...again.

New Pump w/res, New Hoses, New Pulley and New Belt.

New Lucas fluid. Filled. Pulled out with turkey baster, Filled. Repeated.

Noticed spot under the truck today.

Great.

And sorry.  When all this went down I....hanging head....bought it all at AutoZone.

It all looked the same and it was squealing sooooo bad. They have 24 hr store and had everything.

Any particular trick?  Don't THINK I over-tightened.

But......it IS leaking....

When I swapped out my steering box with a "new to me" ZJ quick ratio box, it weeped a little around the output shaft. Threw in a bottle of Lucas power steering stop leak, and after driving it awhile it stopped and hasn't leaked again. Something in a bottle that really worked.

Yep.... 24Hr AutoZone and 24Hr Advance Auto Parts both within a 30 minute drive....sometimes it pays to be in this "major metropolis/suburbia"...other times not.

(when a couple thousand MORE people cut thru my street because the red-light is out on the major roadway at one end of the street...)

hornbrod... I have that "something in a bottle"... worth a try before taking it all back apart...

Thanks for the quick responses......

Where is it leaking from? It could be the actual steering box too. Mine leaks at the top where the input shaft is.

Mine was leaking from the pressure line that goes from the pump to the gearbox. It took me forever to figure it out. there was a little plug on it that needed to be tightened. Because it was under pressure, it sprayed the fluid away from it and wasn't wet. pain in the azz.
