JeepsOLot
When I was installing some 5.25" Pioneers in the doors, I found this behind the passenger side door panel. Image Not Found Image Not Found It's the original built sheet that was put in while the truck was built. I took out what I could, about half, before I put the door panel back on. Plan on laminating the paper to preserve it. I always heard about these sheets being in Jeeps, but never saw one on any of my Jeeps (not sure about the '86 MJ yet). outlaw star
I never liked the stock transfer skids as they are weak here in Fl. (A cyprus knee is a hell of a lot tougher than a rock) gonna fab my own.
JeepsOLot
A few things were done to the Eliminator this week: painted the hood to match the truck, got the parts truck's under dash lights installed and working, and got the cheap as hell B-pillar lights working! The hood: Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found The interior lights: Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found The biggest thing with these B-pillar lights is the ground, you have to clean everything related to the ground side! The lens works as a rocker switch, centered is off totally, tilted down makes them work off the door switches and the headlight switch, and tilted up turns them on no matter what. You REALLY have to clean all the parts of that switch part on the lens, as well as make sure that the metal strips don't move up when you are working the lens. If any part of the plastic is broken, you're done, throw it away, as when you work the lens, the metal strips will work away from the lens. Just some tips! Oh, and to keep the B-pillar lights in, I used thin double sided tape on the ends, works like a champ! Jerry
JeepsOLot
The Eliminator is earning it's keep: Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Moving Outlaw Star's 4.0, AW4, and 242 out of his old XJ, and putting them in a container for safe keeping. JurassicJeep24
That is a very interesting method to remove a motor and trans. I like it!
JeepsOLot
Well, I used the hoist at my house to get the motor and trans out of my '89 parts truck, and had it in the bed to bring back to Outlaw Star. He actually had the idea to just strap it in the bed so we could just yank the motor and drag it to the container. Worked out well!! Jerry
JeepsOLot
Here is how the engine removal happened with the parts truck, and loading it into the Eliminator. Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Here are two pics showing how tight the space was to back the truck in. And mind you, I backed right under the hoisted engine and tranny!! Image Not FoundImage Not Found She has really worked well for me!! JeepsOLot
Well, got another upgrade for the Eliminator, this XJ D44 from Outlaw Star. Image Not Found We are basically swapping D44's, he's getting the 4.10 D44 from my '86 MJ for his 4 cyl MJ, and I'm getting his 3.55 D44. Just have to cut off the perches and shock mounts, and weld spring under perches with the correct spacing. Jerry
