Quartz-clock: No guts?

Sentinel/Sentry:

I would love to see a video of the system doing a run-through check at start-up of all these sensors. I'm assuming the lights are green and red for "good and bad"?

Most all of the various clocks used throughout the years have empty space in them. The only ones I seen full are the Sentinel modules, an option on the XJ Waggys. I used the space in mine to put in an ambient temp display HERE.

Where did you get that ambient temp display at??? I would like 1 like that in my 91.

MAYBE someday I'll get mine to work...  No promises!  I found two used complete units and one NOS display-module.

I thought you only went for NOS on your FSJ's Crist.  I used to browse IFSJA all the time and read through countless threads. Methinks I should scour the web for good deals on rare goodies like these.

I know...  The NOS display didn't come with the associated wiring/controller.  I'll won't tell anyone if you don't!   :P

That's a pretty good score especially considering putting together a complete system is nearly impossible even with access to a donor XJ with the sentry system equipped.  There are about a dozen sensors, which even if they did work are usually pretty brittle. Those sensors usually require special mounting points (threaded holes drilled into the axles or oil pan, special caps on reservoirs, etc.). All attached to two wiring harnesses, one that runs out the firewall alongside the main dash harness and a second that runs down the length of the frame.

I kinda get the feeling that the challenge may too much for me.  But...  At maybe at least... I won't have a blank-cover!   ;)
