cruiser54 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Will check that out Friday when I get back to the tRuck.... Best way to observe that is with a timing light flashing on the spray pattern.
88whitemanche Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 Any other way? I don't have one or anyone that does.... Also after replacing the pump... I noticed after idling (30 mins), and restarting it the idle would shoot down to 50-200 rpms and it will stay there for about 30 seconds then start hunting for an idle to bump it back up to 500-700 rpms... Could this be tps?

88whitemanche Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Ok I haven't driven the truck long distance up until today and it shut off on me 3 times today so I went ahead and readjusted the tps which was out of sync... I got it exactly at the 17%....we'll see my test run on my way to work tomorrow and see if it helped with the shutting off issue.... First tps readings were 4.84 and 1.41.... So adjusted to 17% of 4.84 percent is .82 which where it is currently....
88whitemanche Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 No luck.... It's still doing the off and on instantly brigade....
cruiser54 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I wonder if the ignition switch down on the column is bad......
88whitemanche Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 I'll double check the ignition switch after work...the shop replaced that with the icm, ignition coil,
cruiser54 Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 You know it's adjustable up and down the column, right?
88whitemanche Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 Ok how do I go about adjusting it?
cruiser54 Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Key OFF. Slide the switch UP the column and then tighten the nuts.
88whitemanche Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 Ok how do I know if I've adjusted it correctly?
cruiser54 Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Try this first. With it running, wiggle the key a bit and see if it shuts off.
88whitemanche Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 Started the truck up and played with the keys, wiggled the keys, moved the steering while moving the keys, replicate the movement of the keys while on a drive and it didn't shut off...I've been doing the past 15mins... It doesn't shut off while sitting idle in the driveway...by far only in motion
88whitemanche Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 so this morning it didn't shut off on me but it is a bit cooler than the normal.... Idk if that made a difference or not...
88whitemanche Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 Yes I've replaced the cps twice and the third one check out good as per your ohm test... And I don't have those brackets/holders on my truck... I have routed it away from the exhaust because my original one burned on the exhaust...
88whitemanche Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 Rechecked current cps with ac voltage .65 ac Volts while cranking
88whitemanche Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 So it seems that once the engine gets to warmed up temp. It will jerk/shutoff/ back on then ride smooth....
88whitemanche Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 No I was planning on ordering a set from rock auto tomorrow after I check the junk yard....
88whitemanche Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 Ok haven't switched out the coil or icm I'll order a set Friday once I get funds going... But it hasn't shut off... Sunday I ran the truck for 3 hours about 100 miles of errands and jy runs and not one time it shut off...
