2.1 L turbo boost gauge

The boost gauge on my 2.1 L diesel does not work. Is it electric operation or vacuum / positive air flow operation. The turbo is working fine. I don't know what to look for wires or vacuum tubes.

Can't find crap about this in any manual or book. Appaarently you're going to have to visually inspect the meter and see if it has terminals for electrical or air hydraulic fitting. An inspection of the boost components should give a clue as to what it is. Look for a hose or electrical fitting.

Vacuum direct from turbo area...pain in the butt.

Thanks, JeepcoMJ. Is it stainless or plastic tube? Where does it start on the turbo...underneath and along the firewall? There is nothing obvious around the turbo top.
