I was told that the ax15 and tcase from a YJ /TJ have the Tcase "clocked"

diffrently than the XJ/MJ's is this true? . If so what is diffrent the trans or tcase?

this all came about when a freind of mine put a YJ 231and ax5 in his MJ, he said that the setup from the YJ was clocked diffrently so he couldn't use his crossmember without droping it or modifying it severly.

I believe it's the trans, but I have both so it's hard to say. Personally, I love the extra ground clearance of my TJ AX-15/NP-231. :D

Extra ground clearance is a plus :D did that setup give you any fits hooking up the tcase shifter lever?.

I thought the YJ would be clocked farther down ( ft driveshaft end ) ?

since it has more room to play with than an XJ/MJ.

Nope, it's higher up. Not sure what you'd do with the linkage. My 88 was 2wd originally and I combined the TJ parts I had with the MJ parts I "borrowed" from my 86. Not a clue which pieces I actually used in the end. I had to build a bracket for the trans side of the linkage due to the differences between the TJ AX-15 and the 86 AX-5. Not a big deal, just a flat plate with 3 holes in it. I made a custom crossmember too that raises the t-case up a bit more and makes for a close fit to the body. :D

Cool :D Now I know what I have to look forward too.

First the lift then the trans, I kinda like to plan ahead.

The MJ is my DD I can't have the ole girl off the road long .

Thanks for the info Pete
