ppuusshh Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Hi Eveyone, I have started the process of replacing a worn out slave cylinder. It's an internal cylinder on an AX15, and its going well so far: the transmission is dropped, the old cylinder is off, I have a new retainer nut to put the new one on. I am running into an issue with the quick connect fitting that is on the new cylinder. My first thought was to remove the quick connect piece, and to connect it the way the old one came off. I can't for the life of me seem to get it off. After stripping the nut some I used a vice and it still wouldn't budge. I figured it might be easier to find a fitting that I can attach to the old clutch line, but I can't seem to figure out which of those i'll need either. Does anyone have any guidance? Nathan
Mattwheels Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 My guidance would be since you have the transmission out already convert it to an external setup
ppuusshh Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 I thought about that, but I already have the new cylinder bought and ready to go in.

Mattwheels Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 It may not be cheap, but the convenience of not having to drop the tranny for the slave is amazing and well worth it.
87MJTIM Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I saw an AX15 bell on CL with fork for $70. Maryland area, though. Edit: Lancaster PA (due west of Philly, due north of Balt, MD) http://lancaster.craigslist.org/pts/4565280126.html
oldseddie Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Get that clutch hot with that internal slave and you will be doing it again as heat kills them quick.
