gear ratio

Nope.  that's perfectly normal in axles.  because of differing axle sizes, the ring gear size change and the tooth count changes.  manufacturers just get the ratios close enough to work.  the difference between a 3.55 and a 3.54 is smaller than the difference in tire diameters.

there are limits though.  4.09, 4.10 and 4.11 are all considered the same ratio.  but, for example, mix a 4.10 with a 4.30 and problems will happen.

This helped a lot I have 4.10 gear ratio in my front D30 and rear D35 and I'm looking for a ford 8.8/Dana 44 and I've found one with a 4.09 gear ratio, so this will work with no issues?
