redwolf624
so sunday (july 27th) i went wheelin with my local jeep club and got stuck on a members land (i know real big surprise, 2wd stuck in mud lol) but i had to be pulled out non-the-less but my rear bumper is now warpped and me and my dad don't even wanna try to straighten it back out since when i got my MJ it was a little messed up; but i'm lookin for dementions and specs on what lengths heights, widths and all that good tech stuff bout building my own bumper. i know JCR offroad offers a rear bumper for MJs but i can get thicker metal for less and possibly do the bumper myself but i'm in search of the dementions and blue prints, anyone have any? HOrnbrod
I don't know the dementions or have blueprints, but this one is pretty cool:

Incommando
If you want a factory-like replacement step bumper you could go with a FEY ( Westin) from SummitRacing.com or the like
johnj92131
A sheet of plywood would also be a good thing to use for a bumper mockup. Pleanty of material to build a several different mockup, easy to work with and modify also. Home Depot will even cut the plywood to size for you if you want. Plywood would permit you to drive around with a mounted mockup. The Fey bumper is a good choice for a near stock replacement. But it is not any stronger than the factory bumper. If you want something to pull the truck with, build a good frame mounted trailer hitch for the rear and buy a front mounted hitch for a Cherokee for the front end. TerraWombat has posted detailed measurements of the required brackets for the trailer hitch. I will post a link, when I find the old thread. Here is a good start: http://comancheclub.com/topic/32136-mj-trailer-hitch-group-buy/page-2?hl=hitch&do=findComment&comment=356063
Stacks
Tough to beat a piece of 5" 'C' channel with 2 45 degree bends to wrap around the bed corner and a hitch receiver tube mounted in the center and shackle mounts welded in bumper. I've found, at least on my MJ, that dimensions on a blueprint/drawing tend to be not accurate from vehicle to vehicle especially as old as out MJ's are. Just my two cents worth.
