87Warrior
- Fuel Line fell off (at the time of getting handover in the showroom!) - Loss of all climate controls (twice) - Rattling in drivers door - Clock couldn't keep the correct time (for 2 years!) - Bash plate hanging off - Turbo inlet manifold cracked (towtruck required) - Rain sensor failed - Major coolant leak inside vehicle (towtruck required) - External mirrors getting loose all the damn time (special screws so I can't even tighten them myself if I wanted to!) - Ignition failure (towtruck required) - Faulty seat belt tensioner - Heater exchange cracked behind dashboard - Starter motor intermittently running after the engine has started (has been replaced but keeps doing it) - Drivetrain Control error (towtruck required) - wipers intermittently coming on when driving in dry conditions - Rear strut leaking oil and had to be replaced Sounds like a typical Jeep :wrench: Except for that Turbo manifold crack. That just makes me jealous! :fs2:
FrankTheDog
All the vehicles I've owned for the last 35 years haven't been towed that many times. I don't think my wife or I have been stranded by a jeep more than 3 or 4 times in 700,000 miles. That's the reason I try to buy one owner cars that have well over 100,000 miles on them. You would only keep a car that long only if it has been trouble free.
Incommando
This is the same as our KK Liberty. Then main difference is the FIAT controlled VM Motori I4 diesel. It was tried here for a few years and despite its fans it was not great. It required several mods to have any reasonable dependability and the KJ sites list them. So the rest of the jeep is probably much like the domestic version. Although true lemons exist this seems a bit much. Many of the "repairs" are duplicates: what do you want to bet that internal coolant leak and the broken he at exchanger (heater core) behind the dash are the same thing? And the rain sensor = wiper issues, yes? Starter issue = control module? A fuel line on an injected engine being loose enough to allegedly falloff but the vehicle ran? I think his story is internet BS. Notice he has owned it for 4 years and still has to raise nearly half of the purchase price? Just as "liking" a post doesn't feed orphans many stories like this fictional. But hey if enough people send him cash...
91Pioneer
You'd have to be an idiot to give money for this "cause". The $330 he's been pledged is probably him and his family/friends.
Comanche County
Move along people, nothing to see here, its just another city boy who can't use a wrench.
shawn
Sounds like a typical Jeep :wrench: Except for that Turbo manifold crack. That just makes me jealous! :fs2: totally!! lol . i inherited a chevy half ton recently. nice truck to drive but zero character. it would probably be fine as a float in the pride parade. even with the quirks though, the mj makes me happy when I'm driving it.
