BryceOJ
Hoping this will be an easy question to answer and an easy problem to fix . So I have the idiot light cluster. And aren't all the lights for warning bulbs supposed to illuminate when the key is switched to on? When I do it only the oil and battery light come on. The temperature light doesn't come on. I replaced the bulb thinking it was burnt. But it's not the case. Will replacing the temperature sensor fix that? Or is there a disconnected electrical wire? yxmj
Just a guess but the lights would signal......low oil pressure......no or high battery voltage......overheating.... So with a cold motor you would have....no oil pressure (light on) no power (light on)....motor under overheating (light off) ?????????????????????? . :MJ 1: . BryceOJ
I'm not sure. Maybe so. I just figured like in any other car when you turn the switch before you start the engine all warning lights turn on to do a test to see all light come on and then once started turn off? BryceOJ
Okay I think that mine are fine now. The sensor may have gone bad though
schardein
I just noticed this on mine the other day. Key on, not running, oil and volts light up as a test (I assume). After I fire it up, the water temp light comes on for a second and then goes off.... again i assume as a test?
BryceOJ
I noticed it too once I looked more closely, so My bulb clearly works maybe my sensor has gone because when my engine overheated, the light wasnt on.
Heavy Metal
Anybody know what temp is required to trigger the overheating light? Edit: Just realized how old this thread is, sorry for raising the dead.
benjy_26
No hate here for raising thrrads from the dead. I figure if someone can learn from it, it's all good. I just got an electronic copy of the FSM. I'll look at it and see what I can come up with..
