ajohnson928 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I can't seem to find a power steering hose for a 1999 Cherokee SE 2dr 4cyl. There are plenty of return lines but no high pressure lines on any websites. Am I missing something or is it a dealer only part for some reason?
Jeep Driver Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Yours has the idle-up sensor. Unplug it and see if it makes a difference, if not, replace it with a 4.0 hose.
ajohnson928 Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 Cool, thanks. And what should I do if it does make a difference with the sensor unplugged?
sinkrun Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Look for a place that makes hydrolic hoses should be able to find one in or near your area.

ajohnson928 Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Thanks for the link. I ended up disassembling the existing hose and finding that the o-rings had gone on it. I dug around my toolbox until I found one that fit and slapped it all back together. Problem solved...for now.
dasbulliwagen Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 On the 2.5 the idle up switch only turns on at high pressure like when the wheel is held at lock. This makes sure the engine won't stall.
