Yeah one thing I'm discovering is wiring diagrams would be extremely helpful right now... I emailed that seller you mentioned a few days ago because he doesn't have a shipping rate, didn't hear back yet. I'm all over that electrical book.

There was at one time a link to download an 88 FSM here on the forum.  I couldn't find it with a search.  I do have it downloaded.  It's a little over 17 megs zipped.  I also have an 88 electrical manual.  That's just over 8 megs.  I'd be glad to send them to you before you go and buy a hard copy. Let me know.

While I have digital copies, and a tough book that can travel in the garage where ever... There is something just more convenient and assuring in flipping through pages to find what I am looking for. Digital frustrates me because there is no fast way to flip and browse at the same time... Or flip back and fourth quick, or have a couple pages open at a time without minimizing and maximizing.

I need to add more of the hard copies to my collection myself.

Blue88Comanche has this link in his signature. It's for an 88, but it's mostly XJ and general stuff, not much is MJ specific. There are XJ wiring diagrams, though, which I have found useful. Some of the wire colours are off, compared to my '91, but most of the body wiring (with the exception of the taillights) is the same.

It might be helpful if you need something urgently. Otherwise, though, you're probably better off with the shop manuals.

Oh wow that link gogmorgo, amazing stuff. I will peruse those docs before dropping any cash. It looks like one of them is a scanned copy of that book on eBay...

Stacks, the 88 FSM is in that link.

Well I'll definitely look through those docs now before buying anything. Sometimes I still like to have printed copies though. If I have the elec copies, I can always wait until a real cheap paper copy shows up on eBay since I'm not in a rush

Thanks folks.

Yes my Signature has links to various manuals including the 1988 FSM

EDIT: the folder 88 FSM contains sections of the FSM in PDF format, if you want wo download them all at once, look under the reference docs folder and download the 88fsm zip folder.

if there is anything anyone would like to contribute to my "repository" send me a PM
