Dando
So yesterday I swapped out my column shift column for one from a 5speed cherokee. Because of this I had to swap in a floor shift also from a cherokee. Everything installed and ready to go, shifter is very very stiff. I put it into reverse no problem, backed out of lift bay to sweep shop floor, put back into park also no problem. When going to leave shop, I need to make a three point turn until the snow melts, once in drive I can not get it to shift back into park or reverse. I removed the console cover and the end of the shift cable had a plastic sleeve over it and that has appeared to break which now lets the shift cable simply bend instead of shifting. It was a brand new cable, I have already ordered a new one but it won't be in until Wednesday. I will post pics once it is light out, but what do you think went wrong and caused this to break, don't want to destroy another $70 cable.

HOrnbrod
Oreillys auto parts. Made by the company pioneer p/n CA 1776 That p/n is wrong. The correct O'Reillys p/n is CA1176, for 88-90 XJ/MJ w. AW4 transmissions. The factory p/n for this shift cable is 53004561.

Usamedic
What was the overall length? Approximate? I ask because I recently ordered a new one from rock auto. When it showed up it was obviously 30" too short. I was able to fiddle with the issues in my old one and make it work. What did you think about the crazy routing on the cable?
