1989 Eliminator Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 So i tested/checked the TPS, CTS, o2 and map sensors. All my grounds are upgraded and clean. Could this be a knock sensor issue? If its bad it wouldnt retard the spark like its supposed too. Possibly not enough back pressure and thats messing with egr? I'm stuck!

cruiser54 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Those look like those e3 spark plugs That's what I was thinking. Ditch those pieces of crap right away and put some NGK 7252s in there.

cruiser54 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I don't think the plugs are causing your manifold gasket to fail, but those plugs look like they're definitely the wrong heat range.
1989 Eliminator Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Well if the gases get too hot then it would distort the gasket material in the gasket causing a leak? Thats my thinking. Because I'm having a low and sometimes rough idle. And sometimes i can hear a leak (ticking)
cruiser54 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Nah. It's the plug itself that is too hot of a heat range. It retains it's heat and that's why the deposits are on it.
