Iron Jacket
Right now i'm rockin' a 5-speed Peugeot BA-10/5 and it has quite a bit of trouble shifting. Most of the time locks out of first and reverse, and has locked out of everything a few times as well. I was wondering what would be a good replacement for this transmission. Preferably manual but if I have to get an auto so be it.
TheDirtyJeep401
A good choice that most people will prefer is the AX-15, it is a 5 speed that is stronger, it will bolt right up.
wvzj
Here is a link with some good info http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=70388 You will have to get a new t-case with a 23 spline input gear or change the gear in your case. dasbulliwagen
The later NV3550 trans is another good choice. You do have a few options. If you want an auto, thr AW4 is also a very good trans.
Pete M
before you get too carried away, double check that your fluid is good and up to level. my peugeot was always cranky when the fluid level dropped.

My BA would get really cantankerous with the fluid down more than about 1/8" in the clutch master, and I could always get some air out of the line.
