yellaheep
A little window into my crazy MJ obsessed brain....... :looney: Recently did a 1-day roadtrip to Albuquerque to pick up yet another MJ. An '88 Olympic Edition 4x4 4.0 5/spd. Previous owner had a shop rebuild the engine and it went up in flames. I suspect injector O ring failure and the cracked exhaust header as he said those had not been replaced. 880 miles round trip. This is what I brought back: Yep. Engine fire. Wiring is toast. Dash and interior are junk from fire/smoke damage. Fire Dept responded quickly and doused it. Straight rust free body. Now, many would write this off as a total loss. Not me. All too often the MJ's to be found out there have floor rot issues: Image Not Found Absolutely no fun to fix. THIS....... is why I made the run: Image Not Found Image Not Found A hood, header panel, full harness, fuel line and dash/interior all MUCH easier to fix than those rusty floors. This COMPLETELY rust free truck will make an excellent candidate for a full '98+ update.
