aquiring93
Master cylinder was replaced 6 months ago, no issues since. However, today after two days of below freezing weather and no driving time in that time period, I came out to find that my clutch pedal just sank to the floor. I checked my reservoir and I couldn't see any oil whatsoever. I filled it back up and drove it around for about 20 miles and the clutch is fine again. No signs of leakage above the fuse panel. Any ideas on what the issue could be? Could it somehow be the cold weather?
juan
mine did just that a couple of weeks ago... I filled the reservoir with fluid before my fingers froze. My clutch was installed new 2 years ago. After the fill up all shifting fine - I do see a small drop of what I think is oil in the ground but the truck has always marked the driveway with a few drops... now I'm wondering if is actually oil or clutch fluid - too cold to look right now. 87MJTIM
The dreaded "internal slave cylinder" stikes again! Check the floor/ground under your MJ. You may find your fluid there.
ComancheKid45
The line from the master cyl. to the Slave could be failing as well...
aquiring93
I arrived in Texas where the temperatures are warmer and I haven't experienced any leaking so far. Not sure what is going on. The line from the master cyl to the slave is fine. I'm not sure how to figure out if the slave is leaking or not. It seems really coincidental that it isn't leaking anymore now that I'm in warmer climate.
